The goal was to get the attention of a new group of drivers that may not have previously thought about buying a Kia. Peter Schreyer explains: “With our new saloon, we have created a product that people previously would not have expected from Kia and that’s exactly what we set out to achieve!”

Already an award winner, the Optima features Kia’s signature ‘Tiger nose’ grille which accentuates the strong, bold stance while the rest of the Optima’s exterior radiates effortless elegance.

 When creating the Optima, Kia’s design team had comfort and usability at the forefront of their minds. Consequently the Optima is longer and lower than any comparable model Kia has offered in the past. The result is class-leading front head and leg room. Plus, the interior is completely driver-orientated and offers the high level of specification you’d expect from a premium brand.

As you’d expect from a model designed for 2012, the Kia Optima features advanced environmental technologies such as Kia’s Intelligent Stop and Go system on manual models, the idea being to keep both CO2 emissions and fuel consumption to a minimum. The refined 1.7 CRDi 136bhp engine is available in both a 6-speed manual and automatic.
