The rear has also been given a new edge with a remodelled bumper for the hatchback and new tail lights on both models. This Intelligent Stop and Go (ISG) technology means that when you stop at traffic lights if the car is in neutral and your foot is removed from the clutch, the engine will switch off, then switch on again instantly as you de-press the clutch and are ready to move off. The ISG technology can reduce fuel consumption by up to 12%, whilst reducing noise and exhaust emissions too. Low resistance tyres (on all 15" and 16" wheels) also increase the overall efficiency of the cee'd.
